Ongoing

Every month closed, on time, without you chasing it.

The full cycle handled each period and finished by the fifth working day: transactions coded, accounts reconciled, VAT workings prepared, and a short summary telling you what happened and what needs your attention.

From £375/month · closed by the 5th working day · monthly rolling, no lock-in

What happens each month

  • Every transaction coded against your chart of accounts, consistently period to period
  • Bank, card and payment accounts reconciled to the actual statements
  • Supplier and customer ledgers maintained, with payments allocated rather than left floating
  • Unusual items flagged — a charge that appeared from nowhere, a cost that doubled, income that did not arrive
  • VAT return workings prepared for your review and your submission, in your VAT quarters
  • Aged debtors reviewed so you know who owes you what and for how long
  • A plain-English summary: what went well, what needs attention, what to watch next month

Closed by the fifth working day. That is the commitment, provided your records reach me by the end of the previous month. If something is going to be late, you hear it from me first rather than finding out by asking.

What stays with you

Submitting the VAT return, your year-end accounts, and anything needing a regulated opinion. I prepare and reconcile; the filing and the final accounts sit with you or your practice. I will work directly with them so the handover each year is a package rather than an archaeology project.

Who this fits

20–500+ transactions a month

Enough volume that DIY is eating real evenings, not so much that you need a full finance function.

Already tried doing it yourself

Usually the strongest signal. You know exactly how long it takes and what it costs you in attention.

Need reliable figures on demand

For a lender, a landlord, a funding application, or just to make a decision without guessing.

If your books are behind, this is not the starting point. A retainer keeps a clean set clean; it will not absorb a backlog. Start with a cleanup to establish a reliable opening position, then move onto monthly.

How it is priced

On transaction volume, number of accounts, and whether VAT is in scope. The quote is fixed monthly, so a busy month does not become a bigger invoice.

Monthly rolling, with a month's notice either way. No annual contract, no exit fee, and your data is exported to you in full if you leave.

Getting started

  1. A short call

Fifteen minutes on how the business runs and what you actually need each month.

  2. First month runs

I set up access, agree the chart of accounts and coding rules, and close the first period.

  3. It becomes routine

After the first month or two the questions dry up, because the coding rules are established and I know your suppliers.
